Need to Start working out
Ever since I started college I've been meaning to go to the gym more. We have a great workout center on campus. I was going for like the first month or so, but then I just stop going. I've been making up excuse after excuse why I can't or don't have the time to go anymore. I have started to gain a little weight so I know that I really do need to start going again. It doesn't help either that I don't really eat properly or like I should. I drink way too many sodas, which I know is bascially just liquid candy, because of all the sugar it has in it. I've started to take notice more in what I eat now, and I'm trying to eat right now. I said I'm trying too at least. I probably shouldn't be having cake after every meal that I have, but I love cake..who doesn't. Maybe instead of having pizza I could get a salad instead. It sure is a lot nutritious for me to eat. Next I'm going to have to start eating healthy anyway because I'm competing for the Air Force Scholorship and we have to be in top shape for that. I think as well if they had better food there then I would eat healthier. I think exercising more though would make me feel better ,because I have be feeling kinda slugish lately and eating more healthy does improve your overall quality of like. Also since I took my Nutrition 362 class I have been more interested into what goes into my body and I want to make my body more healthy.
I have bad Anxiety
When it comes to driving or riding in a car I must admit that I do have some issues. It all started since this past summer when I got in a bad car accident. I was driving home from work and it was raining and I guess I was driving a little too fast going over the bridge and my car started to spin out of control. Luckly I was wearing my seatbelt so I only received a minor injury in the accident. Some had stopped and helped me and then the police and ambulane and police came. I was taken to the hospital as a precaution since I had a head injury. After all of that, I now get very caustious and nervous when I'm in a car. I feel that night replay in my head ever time I get on the road. I never want that to ever happen to me again, that was the most scariest thing to ever happen to me. I thought I was going to go off the bridge, luckly when I had the accident there were cement walls on either side of me to protect from going off. I think that this a lesson to everyone that accidents can happen at any moment, so you always have to be aware of your surroundings. Hopefully I'll get over my anxiety and learn to calm down, because there's no way I can continue to drive a car when I'm that tense. I just have to trust my driving abilities and the people around to be cautious.
They need better food
The food here at USM is pretty good. It was really good though the first couple of weeks. We would be in there practically every couple of hours. Then for some reason they stopped making good food. Now they just have basically the same food as always, like pizza, baked chiked and potatos. Then every once in a while they'll throw in something different. I've started not to each there much often now. My friends and I now go over to Hillcrest and get something to eat, because the food is definitely better. We know its a long walk but it's worth it when you get there. Normally my friends and I just drive there, so luckily we dont have to walk. I hope they get a better menu, because that food really is getting old. They need a better variety and more kinds of different foods. The food was getting so old for me that I started just going to Quiznos and Seymour's a lot. I shouldn't be spending my money over there but I do anyway, because I don't want to have pizza and chicken anymore. Hopefully next semester they'll start off the with having good food again. You know since they'll have new students transfering and they have to make a good impression on there cafe. Sure enough though after a couple of weeks they'll get back into the same old food that they've always have had. I guess I'll be going to Hillcrest for the rest of year. Hope they change up the menu soon.
I'm so cold..no im too hot
This thermostat situation is getting just ridiculous now. Sometimes its hot then its cold. There's nights when its freezing and I can't even sleep at night because the temperature gets so cold. I have to wear a jacket or a hoodie all the time. Then sometimes the A.C unit doesnt work and its unbearably hot as well..its like it goes from one exteme to the next. It really does get uncomfortabe for us and its not a good atmosphere. I want to open up the window to get some fresh air in when it gets really hot. I know that I can because the RA will get on to me for it. The RA needs to talk to the maintence people and get them to fix it. The maintence people are always up here trying to fool with something when they need to fix the biggest problem that we have. I try to tell them that its broken but they still haven't tried to fix it for us. The school needs to shell out some money and go ahead and fix the problem. It would be greatly apprieciated by us. We have tried to tell people about the problem we have and I've told the RA and other people about the problem but no one seems to be doing anything about. Hopefully something will get done and we can finally get some relief in our dorm. I mean we pay all this money for the dorm, the least they could do is give us the basic necessity that people need today.
Hold on He's not president yet
Ever since Obama was elected president, people have been trying to blame him now for the countries problem. They need to talk the actual president who got them in this mess in the first place. Its like everyone is just waiting for him to mess up or something. There ready to blame him real quick when something goes wrong . Why didn't the republicans ever put any blame on their own president. They never went to push and asked him why he lied about their being "weapons of mass-destruction" in Iraq. You know why, because they didn't want to admit they were wrong about everything. When we went into this war, it was based on lies. How do you expect to win a war, when you lie about why were even going to war with a country. We then come to find out that Iraq wasn't even part of 9/11, so when you get involved in a war that was a lie from the start you start to question somethings. Obama is going to do great things, but give him chance first to get his team of advisors together so he can help the country when he's sworn in January. I know there will be a lot of challenges he will have to face. Thats why it will take everybody getting involved to make a change in this country. I know we can do it if we work together and with that there will come a difference. Obama will rise to the challenge and prove to everybody why he as the people's choice in making our country a better nation for year to come.
Hooray for obama!
I am so happy and elated to see obama win. This is so great for our country. Barrack Obama will bring so much change and opportunity to the people. I never would have thought back four years ago that I would be writing this to you right now, but it seems that our country can come together through our differences and really make change happen. When Obama won that night it was something I would always remember and never forget. I will never forget where I was when I first heard that he had won. I was in my dorm room with my roommate and some friends when we saw it on CNN. The news had just broke that Obama had been elected our new president. I was overcome with joy and it seemed so surreal to me to think that this could actually happen in our country. After so much has happened with people trying to tare him down, for trying to bring hope to the nation. He face much critism but he rose above it and came out victorious in the end. I want everyone to know that even though he won it wasn't just based on the color of his skin. We all know that Obama is black and WHITE, so I don't see why people keep saying black people voted for him only because he was black..he is white to you know. No matter what anyone says, the people spoke and had their voice heard and now we have a great president-elect ready to take office in January.
This Semester
This semester has been so for me. I've meet so many cool people and done so many exciting things. The friends that I have made are the ones I know I will have for a long time. The first week was pretty scary for me since I didnt really know anyone, but now since I've been here for a whole semester I now know that college can be a fun experience for me. I can't wait for what the next semester will bring for me. I'm taking alot of more hours so I know I'll be busy for the most part. Also competing for that Airforce Scholarship will be a challenge for me as well. I hope I get it. It would be so great for me and my family If I did. I know one thing for sure is I'm not going to be buying all those books this time, like I did last time. I hardly even used any of them. I was so mad when I knew that I had wasted all my money on those books. I could have had a bigger refund checke end of the semesters..you know I need the money. Going through this first semester of college has really opened my eyes to alot of things. I have gained knowledge as well as wisedom. I have been through somethings I will never go through again and I now know what and what not to do in certain situations. I'm glad to have met the people I have and will continue on to make further great memories here at USM.

So Ready For Finals
I'm definitely ready for finals to come already. I've been stressing over all my classes and just getting them over with would be so great for me. I'm at least glad that I'm taking my final exam for nutrition early. Only test I'm not lookin forward to is taking my college algebra test, because it is comprehensive. I'm just ready for a new semester and new classes, there's nothing really exciting about the classes that I'm taking now. I think its really good though that our dorm halls are having study break parties. Its good for them to think of the students that way, and it really does make you feel like they really do care. I know my RA, Keona, is doing a little breakfast gathering for her dorm hall girls next Monday. I think I actually might wake up early that day and go to it, since she's going to get up and do this for us. Finals this semester arent really as bad as I thought it would be,but I still know that I have to study hard and not take these test lightly at all. These test do count a lot for our grade, so I hope I do well on them. I'm glad this semester is finally coming to an end, but i definitely had some good memories this year and made a lot of friends.
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving break was really relaxing for me, I really got the chance to catch up on a lot of my work that i had procrastinated on for the past few weeks. I'm excited to say that I finally finished my 10 page paper in pyschcology. Yeah! That was stressing me out for the past couple of weeks, I never knew when I would have the time to finish that paper. Oh yea, I definitely got a lot of much needed sleep over the break, which I was in dier need of for the past month. We had our big thanksgiving dinner like most families did. We ate a lot and stuffed ourselves with plenty of turkey and dressing. This year my cousin ,Darred, from San Diego came to visit this year. It was the first time that I ever met him, so that was a surprise for me. Also my cousin Cherrale came down from USM, she lives off campus. I enjoyed spending time with my family and just getting away from the campus for a little while. The most memorable part of it,however; was finding out some news that my highschool ,the D'Iberville Warriors, is going to the State Championship game next Saturday. My brother is on the team, so I hope they go all the way and win it. I'm sure they will because they have some amazing players on the team this year. If they do win, I'll be very happy for them, since we haven't won state since 2002. All in all my break was a good one, but I'm just happy that we only have two weeks left now.

Finally Registered to Vote
I used to think what was the point of me voting. Its not like one vote ever did anything. Over the this year though its made me realize that its not just casting a ballot, its making my voice heard and letting people know that I was part of the process in electing the next president. This year's election is the most important than any other in our country's history because so much is at stake. Now that I'm finally registered to vote I really do have to consider who I'm going to vote for. I will have to be honest though I am leaning more towards Barrack Obama, because I do agree with a lot of his ideas. I especially agree with him though on the health care system,we do need to fix it to where it is affordable for everyone to have. I also like his ideas to help with the economic crisis because we are in need for leadership to get us out of the mess we're in right now. We really are in need of change in our government and I think Obama is the person to make that type of change we need.Regardless of who your voting for, it is important that you vote because you can't really complain about the problems were having if you don't vote. So I hope everyone out there who is going to be 18 and are eligible to vote will do so. I wonder how it will feel to wake up that morning after the election and know that we have a new president for a least the next four years. This will be a very interesting election to watch and I know it will change our country in a big way whatever the outcome.

HELP! We Are In A Economic Crisis
Lately our stock market and other financial areas have gone into a economic slump. This is not good at all for anyone, because this effects us all. Its gotten so bad that McCain completely suspended his campaign to go help in congress. This means that they might cancel the debate at Ole Miss , I heard they're mad about that, because they spent millions of dollars on it and have been preparing for this since November 2007. I haven't really heard that much from Obama though. He said he plans to do both the debate and help out in congress with the bailout plan their trying to pass. Hopefully everything works out and they can go ahead and have the debate. I would really like to see their stance on foreign policy, but now that we're dealing with the economic crisis right now I wouldn't mind hearing what they have to say on how they would deal with the economy. This is the number one issue among Americans, and I know their wondering how each one would deal with something as major as this. I hope we don't go into a depression I mean I'm already living on a tough budget going to college and everything . Yeah but I just think this is very bad for us, and I hope a depression never happens. People are already struggling as it is with the high cost of gas prices these days. People are also losing their homes to the mortgage problem to, so our country right now is going through a bad time. Other countries might not want to trade with us now, because our stock market is such a financial risk for them. I personally though think that the bailout plan is a good idea because if the larger companies go down that brings us all down. Hopefully they'll pass the bill and get of out of this economic mess we're in.

Ready For Southen Miss Football !!
Tomorrow will be my first southern miss home game. I couldn't go last time because I was leaving for the weekend and their was also hurricane Gustav coming in a couple days also,so I had a lot of things I had to do. I hope its everything I imagine and hear about. I cant wait for the wild and crazy excitement, the roaring fans, them stomping their feet, the screaming, and just them cheering on our team to victory. I forgot who were going up against but I'm sure we'll beat 'em because there's no way they're going to beat us on home field, especially with the support of the fans. I know when I go to the game tomorrow tonight it will be a fun night of football for me and my friends. Hopefully it wont rain this time like I heard it did last time..because that could be a problem for us. Oh and I also saw those new sky boxes with the TVs and the couches and other stuff that they built too.Can someone tell me who they're for? I'm guessing its for scouters or for dedicated fans who are willing to pay to sit up there. I hope everyone is planning on going to the game to cheer our team on and remember to wear black and gold. I know this is going to be a good game for us and one we're sure to win. GO BLACK AND GOLD!

So Sick of Hurricanes
Hi everyone i just thought i should talk about the active season of hurricanes we've been having this year. I really do think we're having so many hurricanes because of global warming..i mean the temperature of the water has gone up over the past years..so in that recent rise in temperature it has created more hurricanes and more problems for us. What i really dont like about the hurricanes it just that there very aggravating and stressful because u have to pack up and leave take a long drive..then when the storm is over u have to take that long drive back home. Also it interferes with ur work or school schedule..because just from experience i had to miss school that wednesday that we returned from school after hurricane Gustav..i personally think school should have been cancelled wednesday too because there were still students returning to the campus after the storm..so i think they should have at least excused that absence if they werent there that day..because traffic was bad coming back through some parts especially in Jackson,MS. Its also aggravating if u do stay at the school because u cant have any visitors(i do understand that issue though because they do have to keep account for everyone)..then during the storm ur in a hallway for hours sometimes with no air conditioning so it really does cause problems for both sides..i know its not all on the school cause they dont ask for these hurricanes..but when they do happen they need to take somethings into consideration when student are returning back to school. All i want is for this season not to turn into another season Katrina. So please mother nature can u cut us a break!

Congrats to Obama
It has finally happened the first official African-American presidential nominee has been elected. This is a great historical event that has happened in our country's history, but as great as it is I wasn't always for Barrack Obama..my first choice was for Hilary Clinton. I think since Bill Clinton was in office back in the '90s Ive always wanted to have the Clinton's back in office..I guess because they did so well with the economy(they actually managed to balance our country's budget) and me and other people have always said that if we had the chance to elect Bill for a third term we would have, so when Hilary decided to run for office I thought it would be the next best thing to having her husband in office. Not only has obama made great strides in our country's history but Hilary has also broken through many barriers by being the first women to be a serious running mate in an election. Now that the primary election is over and were going into the general election this is the time where we really do have to look at the issues and not just race or gender. I think this is the most important election in our country's modern history. There is a lot at stake in this election so I hope everyone looks at each candidates political platform on all the issues that we face. I just don't know what ill do if McCain gets in office because it seems he's oblivious to the nature of the economy..he thinks everything is going good -how can you can u say the economy is good right now. It just shows me how bad of a president he would be in my opinion. This election will be very interesting to watch and I hope people make the right choice for the future of our country.

First Weeks at Southern Miss
My first weeks at southern have been really fun so far. GEWW week of course was exciting for me..because I didn't really know anyone at the school to begin with expect the people that I hung out with at preview. I actually met a lot of cool people from GEWW week. One of the people I met was Beth that was in my group we're good friends now and hang out a lot. Im still excited about what the rest of the year will bring me. I know I have to focus on my studies and make good grades but I also want to get more involved with clubs and other organizations. Im also planning on going to the Payne center a lot.. you know cant gain that Freshmen 15 every one's been talking about but I don't know how you can with all the walking we do.The food at the Fresh Food has really been good too and I can go anytime I want because its unlimited.I do try not to go to Quiznos if I can even though it is convenient I think im gonna try to cut down on Quiznos. Its also kind of crazy though how you can meet so many cool people so fast and become good friends with them just by being yourself..I guess this really is the best school to go to and I hope to make many more memories as the year goes by..Oh yeah and I do want to say that I have experienced something not so great while on campus and thats the cat calling and the looks and stares me and my friends get everytime we walk by a group of guys so could you guys layoff if we're not trying to talk to you that means we're not interested in you
